COVID-19 Relief Project

 COVID-19 has disproportionately affected Black families. Now more than ever, families need our support.

We are proud to announce the COVID-19 Relief Project for York Region, funded by the Children’s Aid Foundation.

With a variety of programs and services available to support Black families, we aim to help mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 and give families the support they deserve in their time of need.

Stream 1: Wrapping Around for Success

This program provides wrap-around support to 40 families in York Region, ranging from grocery funding to student tutoring and technology access.

Stream 2: Emergency COVID-19 Relief Fund.

Black families in York Region experiencing circumstances of need due to COVID -19 can access a temporary emergency relief fund to pay for food, supplement rent supplements, purchase school supplies/clothing, etc.

Stream 3: Child Welfare System Navigation

The Parents of Black Children Child Welfare System Navigator will provide support to families who identify as needing help navigating the child welfare system.
